Con la lettera del 1° agosto 2011 il Dipartimento degli Affari Economici e Sociali delle Nazioni Unite (Office for ECOSOC Support and Coordination – NGO Branch) ha comunicato a International Human Rights Observer che l’ECOSOC, nella sessione di luglio 2011, ha concesso all’organizzazione lo status consultivo speciale.
